BLS Instructor Training Course

COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the programme, the trainee instructor will learn:

  1. Adult learner education concepts
  2. How to present BLS didactic materials
  3. How to demonstrate BLS skills according to American Heart Association guidelines
  4. How to correct faulty CPR performance
  5. How to disinfect and maintain CPR manikins; and
  6. How to fairly and accurately evaluate BLS student performance


PRE-REQUISITE - BLS SKILLS
AS TRAINEE INSTRUCTORS the participants will NOT learn CPR during this Instructor Course. It is expected that they possess excellent BLS skills. As such, participants MUST be proficient in all Adult, Child, Infant 1 & 2 rescuers CPR & Foreign Bodies Airway Obstruction and AED steps and procedures.

*They MUST therefore be thoroughly familiar with the AHA 2020 Guidelines


SUCCESSFUL BLS INSTRUCTOR CONFIRMATION
Upon successful completion of this BLS Instructor Course and fulfilling the following conditions:

  • Demonstrate competent teaching abilities in all the BLS modules skills testing
  • Achieve a minimum score of 84% in the 50 questions online MCQ Post Test
  • Achieve a minimum score of 84% in the 25 questions online MCQ Supplementary Test on AEDs

YOU will receive the NHAM BLS Instructor Certificate which has a validity of 2 years. Thereafter as a certified NHAM BLS Instructor, you can commence teaching BLS courses.

For renewal of your BLS Instructor certificate upon its expiry, you MUST be an active BLS Instructor and need to conduct not less than 2 BLS courses per year.
 
PAYMENT MODE
Payment accepted via cheque / cash deposit / online transfer, must be made before the specified deadline. Invoice will be provided upon request. PAYMENTS MADE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
 
HOW TO ENROL
Register your interest online and we will email you the enrolment form. Please return with copy of participant's valid BLS certificate (compulsory) to reserve your seat. Do submit your documents as soon as possible to grab your seat. First come first serve basis.

Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of full payment fees (pre-course materials will be sent to participants upon confirmation of payment).


HRDF AND CPD POINTS
The National Heart Association of Malaysia is a HRD Corp registered training provider, MyCoID: PPM0021420091978. This is a HRDF-approved training programme. Medical officers (doctors) are entitled to 16 CPD points for this course (MMA-approved). Nurses are to submit their own application for CPD claims with the Certificate of Attendance, provided through their hospitals in accordance to the CPD guide.

COURSE FEE
